Biocair nets coronavirus deal with Bundesliga

Specialist global courier Biocair – based near Cambridge UK – reveals that it is transporting COVID-19 antibody tests for the German Football Association.

The Bundesliga was the first European football league to restart amidst the ongoing pandemic.

As a result, the league has implemented several protective measures to guard staff and players against COVID-19. This includes mandatory testing across all clubs.

Biocair, anchored in Sawston, is a specialist global courier with over 30 years of dedicated experience in cell and gene therapy, clinical trials and bioscience sectors.

As part of the agreement, Biocair is transporting selected blood samples to specialist laboratories for investigation to find out if an individual has developed antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Miguel Rodriguez, client relationship manager at Biocair GmbH, said: “It is a great honour to be able to provide logistical support to the Deutscher Fußball-Bund’s efforts in providing COVID-19 antibody tests.

“Throughout the pandemic Biocair has been part of numerous projects worldwide involving the transportation of COVID-19 related materials, including blood samples, antibodies and test kits to help support research and trials. We should be proud of the small role we are playing in tackling COVID-19.”
