Speaker line-up announced for creativeConf Cambridge
Software Acumen and CamCreatives have announced the final speaker line-up for creativeConf Cambridge 2015 – a new practical event taking place this month at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.
Speakers at the event on October 24 include Stephanie Taylor (social psychologist of the Open University), Nick Corston (founder of STEAM Co., an organisation that runs art-meets-science events in schools), Lesley Thomson (a member of the Scottish Government), Lou Shackleton (co-founder of You Can Do Hub), Geatan Lee of the Cambridge Science Centre, and Vaiva Kalnikaite of Dovetailed - a UX studio and innovation lab that has developed a 3D printer that can make edible fruit.
During the course of the day participants will hear from creative thinkers and take part in a variety of hands-on workshops such as ‘The Robot of Mediocrity vs Danger Lou’, a superhero, created by Lou Shackleton. Attendees can also build a machine which starts and ends with the pull of a string, and design and print their own personalised cocktail using a 3D printer developed by Dovetailed.
Steve O’Connor (pictured) of CamCreatives said: “We have a great line up of inspirational speakers and over the course of the day participants will learn how to apply creative principles to their own personal circumstances. I hope everyone will leave the event feeling motivated and apply what they learn to their everyday lives.”
creativeConf Cambridge 2015 is being sponsored by 450 GSM, an online print service for the creative crowd, and Creative Front, an initiative led by Anglia Ruskin University to stimulate, incubate and grow further the creative industries in Cambridge and surrounding area. A full conference programme and speaker list can be found on the creativeConf Cambridge 2015 website.
