A new network for knowledge-based, technology-led businesses based in the Milton Keynes region has been launched.

A new network for knowledge-based, technology-led businesses based in the Milton Keynes region has been launched.

Through a collaboration of lead organisations and commercial sponsors, Sparc, Milton Keynes technology network will facilitate and support face-to-face contacts, link the regional entrepreneurial community to international communities and promote Milton Keynes as a centre for entrepreneurship within the Oxford2Cambridge Arc.

Chris Dunkley, director for MK Enterprise Hub and project director for Sparc, said: “ There is a growing need around Milton Keynes to link technology-led businesses with international markets and suppliers, potential investors, appropriate business services and to be able to identify the next generation of entrepreneurs. Sparc will encourage an environment in which this can happen.”

Grant Seeley, director of investment at Milton Keynes Partnership supports the initiative.

He said: “Milton Keynes’ future accelerated growth will be determined by the success of technology related sectors that are emerging from academia, incoming businesses and start up enterprises.

“Sparc is a great platform for this to happen. We are already undertaking a feasibility study to build a echnopole‚ in Milton Keynes which will provide accommodation and support

to start up companies and technology based businesses.”
