Child’s play as Christie sells two Suffolk nurseries
Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has announced the sale of Bridge Farm and Rendlesham Nurseries in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
These are two purpose-built children’s day nurseries with a strong reputation for high-quality childcare, with both nurseries being rated as 'Good' by Ofsted.
The businesses were previously owned by Dan and Tina Powick who left London to move back to their hometown of Woodbridge and, in 2005, decided to open their home to their first few children.
Since then, the nurseries have grown from strength to strength. They were brought to market to allow Dan and Tina to pursue other avenues.
The nurseries have been purchased for an undisclosed sum by Golden Apples Nurseries.
Speaking on behalf of the company, Evelyn Wheeler said: “We feel so blessed to add these two nurseries to our Golden Apples family and we have a hard task to follow in filling Dan and Tina’s shoes.
“As ever, the team at Christie & Co were outstanding in supporting us throughout, our particular thanks go to Lucy McLean and Sophie Willcox.”
Dan Powick commented: "I am thrilled to be handing over the nurseries to Evelyn who has a proven track record in providing outstanding care to the children at her other settings.
“It is also ideal to have someone who lives in the East Anglian area and is going to be hands-on with the business. Christie & Co was able to find the ideal buyer to take the nurseries forward whilst building on the success we have enjoyed over the last 15 years.”
Sophie Willcox was the Director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale and felt the nurseries were in safe hands.
