New employee benefits specialist opens in Cambridge

A new powerhouse business operating in the realm of employee benefits has opened in Cambridge at an ideal time to help companies optimise their strategies to attract and retain the best talent in a fiercely competitive marketplace.

The company – EBCam Ltd – may be new-born but the founding team is rich in experience boasting more than 30 years of experience: EBCam has been founded by James Bolton, Steph Gordon and Laurie Clark following a management buyout from their former employer Scrutton Bland Financial Services Ltd. Kate Bolton has also joined the team and the company is planning to bring in more expertise at its Cambridge and Suffolk offices.

Managing director James Bolton said: “We are really excited to launch EBCam Ltd – a firm specialising in providing employee benefits, financial advice and education.

“We are looking forward to working with our existing clients and companies who care for and value their employees, helping them to review and build employee benefit packages with real impact.

“Our company aims to become the leading independent specialist reward and benefits consultancy in Cambridge and the eastern region. We work alongside our clients HR and finance departments to help them engage with their staff to deliver modern flexible benefits which help their employees and their businesses thrive.

“Ensuring your workplace pension scheme offers competitive charges is understood by employees and investment options are appropriate to meet the demands of your staff such as offering socially responsible and ethical investments is vital to engage employees.

“Financial education alongside competitive protection, flex and wellbeing benefits ensures that the benefits spend is focused and appreciated. Our job is to review what your business currently offers, benchmark and design reward strategies tailored to meet your specific needs and budget.”

EBCam’s rationale is that staff benefits, rewards and wellbeing are such an important part of an employee’s remuneration package; the issue isn’t purely about salary any longer.

EBCam recognises this and works with a range of companies from exciting fast-growing startups through to larger established global Plc’s. The focus is to create employee benefits packages that evolve as a business and its employees’ needs change whilst remaining competitive and cost effective.

Bolton adds: “We are also Independent Financial Advisers, meaning we can also support directors and employees in relation to their pension, investments and protection – including offering financial education and advice to ensure the employees understand and appreciate the benefits offered.”

EBCam’s head office is at St John’s Innovation centre in Cambridge – at the heart of Europe’s leading science & technology cluster. It also has a support team based in Fornham St Martin, Bury St Edmunds.

EBCam will be hosting a number of events later in 2020 in relation to key topics in the world of employee benefits, particularly around financial education and flexible benefits.
