Icelandic firm expands

A fast growing Icelandic owned manufacturer has expanded in Colchester.

AEW Delford Systems makes advanced checkweighers, weigh price labellers and other machines for the global food processing industry. It has taken a new 11,000 sq metre manufacturing plant at Colchester’s Severalls Industrial Park, which was officially opened by the Icelandic ambassador to the UK, Sverrir Gunnlaugson.

Some 119 people are employed at the new facility, which represents a £1.8 million investment by Icelandic parent company, Marel Food Systems.
