Brazilian food giant makes a home in Milton Keynes
One of the largest companies in the Latin American food sector and one of the leaders in food production and the processing of poultry and pork meats in Brazil has set up home in Milton Keynes.
Perdigao has taken a lease on 3,400 sq ft in Bell House, Knowlhill in a deal negotiated by Bidwells. Perdigao was the first Brazilian food company to list on the São Paulo Stock Exchange’s New Market (Novo Mercado) comprising companies with high standards of corporate governance.
It has a turnover of almost £2 billion and employs around 40,000 staff with a presence in over 100 countries. Founded in 1934 by Italian immigrants, Perdigão has seen a major expansion in its business over the past 72 years. It has evolved from a core focus on the production of poultry and pork meat by launching new business platforms in the beef and margarine markets and – via acquisition – into dairy products.
It is one of several deals completed by Bidwells at Knowlhill recently: They include the letting of Unit A in the Kudos development to Leisure Finance and a further suite in Baird House to the existing tenant Sectra, for expansion.
While there is a range of office accommodation available within the estate for immediate occupation, more new offices are being developed.
Construction has started on the first building in the second phase of the Kudos development, which has been pre-sold to Landmark, with a further 8,100 sq ft three storey building available in this scheme.
At Newton Court, four of the six units are now sold, with only 2,700 sq ft remaining and work is due to start soon on a large new development on site J, comprising 39 new buildings.
Bidwells is also due to start marketing the largest speculative out-of-town office building to be situated on the prime site at the front of the Routeco Business Park, comprising a 32,000 sq ft flagship HQ building.
