Premier Foods pick-le Timestrip

Smart label developer, Timestrip has announced the latest in a string of deals, this time with local provisions giant Premier Foods, to trial Timestrips on the UK's biggest selling pickle brand.

The Hitchin-based company said that Timestrips will feature as an on-pack trial with jars of Branston Original sold by Tesco throughout the UK from mid December.

Mounted on a perforated neck collar, consumers will be able to activate the Timestrip upon first opening the jar, affix the Timestrip to the top of the lid and thereby monitor for how long the jar has been open.

The deal is the latest in a line of trials that Timestrip has won in the last few weeks, adding Premier to a group of international companies including DHL and Whirlpool, which Timestrip said may lead to the further application of its labels with Premier's products.

"We are delighted to be working with such a high profile brand as Branston, which currently sells over 23 million jars a year and is bought by one in three households every year," said Timestrip's joint CEO, Reuben Isbitsky.

"We hope that the launch at Tesco will lead to wider opportunities with Premier and we will provide updates on progress with this relationship in due course."

Shares in Timestrip have gained almost three per cent, rising 0.15p to 6p.
