Mellor serves up an ace with Wimbledon Honey
Cambridgeshire businessman Nick Mellor claimed one of the best returns at Wimbledon by serving up his new venture – selling honey – at the lawn tennis spectacular.
The owner of Cambridge-based advertising agency Honest, Mellor has been keeping bees and producing honey for years but this time decided to go for a net profit.
It was soon advantage Mellor as the product went on sale from high-end delicatessens across SW19; the buzz was such that shops were selling out just days after putting the honey on the shelves!
The branding and launch of the product was all done from within the Honest offices in Bridge Street, Cambridge. The Honest team devised the name, logo, website, social media and distribution channels with the label itself being designed by an intern in just a couple of weeks.
Mellor said: “I’m so pleased with the way that Wimbledon Honey has been received and with the work that Honest did in making it such a success. It’s great to think that from my beekeeping hobby I now have a high consumer demand for my product.
“Over the years Honest has worked on some really great projects and enjoyed lots of success. I’m so pleased that we are able to add Wimbledon Honey to our portfolio.”
Mellor is now back in Honest’s own hive of activity but the next batch of Wimbledon Honey is already in the works.
