Japanese food specialist, Wasabi Sushi & Bento, has opened the doors of its new Cambridge branch on Petty Cury, having invested more than £1 million to open in the city.

The new 721 sq.ft store seats 40 and will serve a selection of sushi, salads, soups and hot dishes.

“We’re delighted to finally open in Cambridge and bring top quality affordable Japanese food to Cambridge shoppers,” said Dong Hyun Kim, founder of Wasabi.

“Wasabi will offer a lunchtime alternative of sushi, salads, soups and authentic hot bento dishes, which we are confident will be popular with hungry shoppers in search of something new, different and healthy.”

Launched in 2003, Wasabi saw turnover reach more than £64 million last year and currently employs around 1,500 people in the UK.
