Top trio tilt at IoD UK title
Three East Anglia-based executives are tilting at glory in the Institute of Directors’ National Director of the Year Awards.
The UK prize is in their sights after they won the IoD East of England Director of the Year Award.
The regional winners were:-• Director of the Year (Small and Medium Company) – Simon Francis, managing director of Norwich-based Eastern Storage Equipment• Young Director of the Year – Chris Walthew, MD of Cambridge-based Prospect Research• Public Sector Director of the Year – Andrew Reed, chief executive of the Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust
Chris Parkhouse, chairman of the Institute of Directors in the East of England announced the winners. The competition rewards excellence and leadership.
Entries were received from across the East of England and winners were chosen by a panel comprising the regional chairman plus chairmen of the IoD branches in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire.
Parkhouse said: “The Institute of Directors is the world's most experienced and long-standing organisation advocating director professionalism. As a worldwide association of around 40,000 members, with about 6,000 across the East of England, it provides a professional network that spans the whole spectrum of regional, national and international business leadership, from large public organisations to small private firms.
“Our winners should feel extremely proud of their achievements and we offer them our best wishes for their continued success as they go on to take part in the National Awards.”
