MetroShed’s innovative pool house uses its trademark innovative design and flat pack construction methods in a 13 feet by eight feet design that can be used as a pool house, home office or art studio.

Owned by UK design house, GDM Ltd, MetroShed has used brand new pre-fab construction techniques to make the MetroShed garden rooms stronger, more durable and have less parts.

The watertight design is suitable for hot and cold climates and has insulated pre-assembled wall panels and simple symmetrical post and beam construction.

GDM founder and designer, David Ballinger, said: “The first version of MetroShed sold out within weeks and we’re excited about our 2006 pool house offering, a first in the industry. In addition we have made it possible to join multiple MetroSheds together without the need for complicated building processes.

“The new version of the MetroShed is a testament to the MetroShed Movement – a group of modern-minded individuals that are enthusiastic that pre-fabricated structures are the way forward in modern architecture.

“We are continually amazed at the public’s response to the MetroShed and their desire to have modern architecture at affordable pricing. MetroShed is now a true pre-fab operation where we can mass produce the MetroShed modern pool house and lower the price significantly due to the economies of scale that pre-fabrication offers.”

GDM opened US operations in Pennsylvania in 1999 and in New Jersey in 2000 to service clients such as Western Union, BMW, PepsiCo and Chevrolet.

Ballinger is the UK’s former brand / marketing director for reality TV pioneer, Endemol Entertainment, creators of Big Brother, Changing Rooms, Trading Spaces, Extreme Home MakeOver, Ground Force and Fear Factor.
