Music to their ears

Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College CUC’s Music and Entertainment Department has launched an innovative joint initiative with sound systems giant, Shuttlesound. Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College CUC’s Music and Entertainment Department has launched an innovative joint initiative with sound systems giant, Shuttlesound.

The partnership is thought to be unique within the music industry as well as across higher education.

BCUC has teamed up with Shuttlesound, the UK distribution subsidiary of Telex EVI Group, so that it can offer students on its degree course in Music Industry Manage-ment and Live Production the opportunity to gain a thorough understanding and first-hand experience of industry-standard sound equipment used at premier live events across the world.

Under the deal, BCUC has bought a professional sound system featuring Dynacord loudspeakers, Electro-Voice amplifiers, a Midas mixing console and Klark-Teknik audio processing equipment.

The initiative will see BCUC working particularly closely with Shuttlesound in the development and delivery of its music and entertainment programme of courses.

Shuttlesound staff will also provide masterclasses for students as part of the course curriculum.
