Northgate wins 3 year education contract

Northgate Information Solutions in Hemel Hempstead has won a three year contract to develop ICT managed services to schools across the UK from government agency BECTA’s Infrastructure Services Frame-work.Northgate Information Solutions in Hemel Hempstead has won a three year contract to develop ICT managed services to schools across the UK from government agency BECTA’s Infrastructure Services Frame-work.

It follows Northgate’s £8.9m contract to provide similar services under the government’s £45 billion, Building Schools for the Future programme.

Darren Lemon, managing director of Education at Northgate’s Managed Services, added: “The framework agreement supports the joined-up delivery of ICT at the local, regional and national level, and will improve sharing, performance and access across the schools sector and its institutional infrastructure to the ultimate benefit of every pupil in the UK.”

Becta (British Educational Communications and Technol-ogy Agency) supports all four UK education departments in their strategic ICT developments. Northgate has 25 major offices across the UK and six international offices. Founded in 1969, the company has over 3,300 employees.
