CSR is hotly tipped to be the provider of the Bluetooth chips for the gaming platform’s wireless controllers, although this has not yet been confirmed by either party.
There are fears within the City that the delay of the launch of the PS3 could also delay the award of the contract.
A number of analysts had expressed the view that the console would not be ready for launch until after the end of May, with previous guidance indicating a spring 2006 launch. Sony has not moved to deny the speculation. Shares rallied slightly to close 3.27 per cent down at 1079.5p.
CSR’s BlueCore silicon has been chosen by TCL Mobile Communication Co. Ltd., one of China’s largest mobile phone manufacturers, for its latest handset, the TCLe787.

The use of CSR’s BlueCore2 technology and Bluetooth version 1.2 software stack brings Bluetooth wireless connectivity to complement the handset’s wide range of multimedia features.
The TCLe787 handset incorporates a 2.0 Mega Pixel camera with MPEG 4 video recording capabilities.
The TCLe787’s multimedia features include support for media in MP3, MP4, WMA and AVI formats along with sound recording.
CSR’s BlueCore2 Blue-tooth technology allows for the sharing of photos, video, music, and documents between Bluetooth-enabled handsets and other devices.
