BlueFinger lands £1m fisheries contract

Bluefinger, the new subsidiary of Huntingdon-based Cybit has secured a £1m contract just seven months after being acquired by the firm.The contract, with Thales UK requires BlueFinger to supply and install a fisheries Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) to monitor and control 400 fishing vessels, part of a larger system that Thales will deliver to an African client.

News of the contract saw shares in Cybit holdings rise six per cent to 51.5p, with the company describing it as “very encouraging to have won this contract so soon after the acquisition.”

BlueFinger was acquired by Cybit for £1.6m in June 2006 and has since announced a £0.5m extension to its VMS contract with the Ghanaian Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
