Frontier set to nail global games kudos with Warhammer

Frontier Foundry, the games label of Cambridge video games pioneer Frontier Developments, has flagged up the launch of Warhammer 40,000®: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, a new game in partnership with world-renowned Warhammer 40,000 creator Games Workshop®.

The UK share price rocketed nine per cent on the news before falling back but still enhanced Frontier’s global reputation and its market cap.

Developed by Complex Games, Canada, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters pitches humanity's greatest weapon – the Grey Knights – against the corrupting forces of Chaos in a brutal and fast-paced, turn-based tactical RPG.

The launch blurb has generated plenty of excitement: “Armoured in faith and shielded by devotion, the Grey Knights' very existence is rooted in mystery: the possession of any unsanctioned knowledge about their secretive brotherhood is punishable by death.

“In Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, players will experience the ruthless, merciless combat of the 41st millennium, following the journey of these elite warriors in a narrative penned by acclaimed New York Times bestselling author, Aaron Dembski-Bowden.”

The game will release on PC in 2022 on Steam and the Epic Games Store, published by Frontier Foundry. The title will build on Frontier's existing partnership with Games Workshop®: Frontier has previously announced its internally developed Warhammer® Age of Sigmar® real-time strategy title, which is currently in development for a scheduled release date in Frontier's financial year 2023 –the 12 months ending May 31, 2023.

The full cinematic announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters is planned for August 2021.
