Big Apple lawyer a big cheese for Taylor Vinters
As part of its strategic growth plan, international law firm Taylor Vinters has bolstered its Cambridge team with a new partner.
Joining from international firm Cooley, Gareth Dickson (pictured) has been appointed partner in the commercial disputes team in Cambridge.
A UK-qualified solicitor and New York-admitted attorney, he specialises in resolving cross-border technology, intellectual property and social media disputes across the financial services, luxury goods and creative industries. His work involves formulating business strategies for the digital environment, tackling Internet fraud and advising on the misuse of protected works.
Dickson is a regular speaker at international conferences on intellectual property and has been appointed by the World Intellectual Property Organisation to arbitrate domain name disputes. He is a member of the Law Society’s specialist Intellectual Property Committee as well as its Civil Justice Committee.
Matt Meyer, chief executive of Taylor Vinters said: “Gareth is renowned as an effective and user-friendly litigator in disputes with an international or online element, so will be a great asset to our commercial disputes team, which regularly receives international instructions and forms a key part of our wider technology practice.”
