Brilliant Birketts goes from strength to strength

EO Charging
Birketts advised EO Charging, a leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions for fleets, on its $80 million equity investment from Vortex Energy and Zouk Capital.
Founded in 2014 by entrepreneur Charlie Jardine, EO’s unique end-to-end solutions offer customers everything they need to transition to electric at scale and pace, no matter the size of their fleet.
Legal Director, Rachel Astill, led on the transaction and was supported by Grace Shek (Associate).

M7
Birketts’ Real Estate Investment Team advised leading European property investment firm, M7 Real Estate Ltd, on the sale of a £62 million UK multi-let industrial portfolio to Pictet Alternative Advisors and Marchmont Investment Management.
The sale concluded a long-term asset management strategy, which saw M7 acquire a portfolio of 17 assets over the course of 2016 and 2017 and establish an increase in profit and an overall uplift in rent on behalf of a high-net-worth investor family.
The Birketts team advising on the sale was led by Cameron Barlow (Partner, Head of Real Estate Investment) and Nikki Link (Legal Director, Real Estate Investment), with key support from Elliot Wotton (Solicitor, Real Estate Investment).

Zedify
Following on from the last round of angel investments in 2020, Birketts advised Cambridge-based Zedify, the electric cargo bike delivery network, in its latest investment of £5 million.
Led by Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital and MEIF Proof of Concept & Early Stage Fund, which is managed by Mercia and part of the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, with participation from existing investor Green Angel Syndicate, the funding will power the brands UK growth.
Zedify was founded in 2018 to offer a sustainable, greener delivery solution. It currently operates its zero emissions service in 10 UK cities.

Cambrionix
Birketts’ Corporate Team advised Cambrionix and its owners on its multi-million-pound equity investment from Foresight Group.
Founded in 2007, Cambrionix is an industry leading Cambridge-based designer of hardware and software solutions for the global mobile device management market. An estimated five million devices worldwide are connected to Cambrionix hardware at any one time.
Foresight Group’s investment comes from the £100 million Foresight East of England Fund, a fund developed to support SMEs in the East of England and beyond.
Adam Jones (Corporate) and Greg Allan (Corporate) led the team from Birketts and were supported by Alice Wooler (Corporate), Karl Pocock and Robbie Watson (Corporate Tax), and assisted by Samuel Varney and Leanna Romano (Corporate).
