AccorHotels opens ibis Cambridge

AccorHotels has officially opened its new ibis Cambridge hotel. Situated in the prime location of Station Square directly opposite the train station, it is the first AccorHotels property in Cambridge.

The hotel’s opening is creating around 20 new jobs, ranging from managerial roles to receptionists, bar and restaurant staff.

Cambridge welcomed 430,000 visitors from overseas alone last year, collectively staying over 3.5 million nights and spending £350 million. This made it the 10th most visited UK town by overseas visitors.

Thomas Dubaere, managing director, AccorHotels UK & Ireland said: “We have ambitious expansion plans in the UK and growth in the regions outside of London is a key part of this.

“Cambridge is a hugely popular destination for both leisure and business travellers and our new hotel will help to cater for both. We are very pleased to be investing in the Cambridge economy and look forward to making a positive impact in the area for our guests, partners and the local community.”

AccorHotels is present in 95 countries with more than 4,000 hotels and 240,000 employees.
