SDI profits and revenues rocket
AIM-quoted Cambridge company Scientific Digital Imaging plc reported a massive increase in profits on significantly higher revenues in the six months to end-October.
Revenue was 34 per cent higher to £6.552 million and profit before tax rocketed 106 per cent to £846k.
Chairman Ken Ford (pictured) said revenue growth was driven by organic progress and acquisitions; the organic revenue growth was delivered by Sentek and Atik Cameras with the growth from acquisitions delivered by Astles Control Systems and Applied Thermal Control.
The business designs and manufactures scientific and technology products for use by the life science, healthcare, astronomy, consumer manufacturing and art conservation markets.
Ford said: “The first half of the financial year has seen the group report substantial growth and we are pleased that trading in the current second half continues in line with management expectations.
“We have been pleased with the performance of Applied Thermal Control which was acquired in August 2017. The acquisition was another exciting step in the group’s growth strategy and SDI looks forward with confidence.”
