Teknomek shows steel with growth strategy
Norwich-based stainless steel hygiene furniture and equipment manufacturer Teknomek is in expansion mode. In its 25th anniversary year, the company has hired four new members of staff including a managing director.
New MD Steve Mallett has worked in various director roles working on major brands such as Pirelli, Waxoyl, Ford, Honda and Mazda. His expertise has focused predominantly on change management, while beginning to introduce a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business. He plans to further develop the strong brand by recruiting and developing specialist personnel.
An apprenticeship scheme is underway with plans in place to expand, develop and train Teknomek’s workforce. Financial controller Rebecca Baker has been brought in to head up the accounts team. Despite a qualification in physiotherapy, she began her career with BP as a trainee accountant, qualifying with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1987.
To improve customer service, a new role has been created for Sandra Jones, Teknomek’s telesales executive, who will work with the existing sales team. Providing valuable data analysis and insight into trends, performance and pricing is another of Teknomek’s latest recruits, John Clark, the new marketing executive.
With a background primarily within the financial services industry and manufacturing, he has gained valuable experience in utilising databases for use within direct marketing. He is particularly keen to use his expertise to improve customer relationships and encourage new business.
Teknomek services the needs of industries where hygiene standards and sterile conditions are high priority. They include food processing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical and scientific research and veterinary.
