Irish firm continues Northants expansion

Freefoam Plastics is continuing its ambitious UK growth plans with the purchase of a new extrusion line that will expand capacity at the Irish firm’s Northampton plant.

The Northampton facility, which occupies over 86,000 sq ft, has already had over £3m pumped into it in the last year, including a new state-of-the art silo material handling system in January.

Freefoam is the third largest manufacturer of roofline and rainwater systems in the UK and Ireland and needs the extra capacity to meet demand.

Steve Pilkington, Freefoam production manager, said: “This is our fifth line here in Northampton in our first 12 months of production at the plant.”
