Prism Electronics optimistic after new contract wins

Prism Electronics has said it will exceed 25 per cent growth for 2006 and expects to double by 2009 following a flood of new contract wins and collaborations.The St Ives-based electronics manufacturer has increased staff numbers by over one third to 49 and is looking to recruit 10 new people over the next few months, increasing staff numbers by a further 20 per cent. Turnover for the year ended September 2005 was £2.3m.

Recent contracts include: Trackflow Ltd, where Prism helped bring to market an innovative wireless data transmission system; Copley Motion Systems’ £50,000 deal with Prism for production of electro-mechanical assemblies for an innovative industrial linear actuator; and the appointment by Xennia Technology as its preferred supplier of printed circuit boards and electronic sub-assemblies.
