Bath maker bids to clean up globally
Essex bath maker BC Designs is set to turn the tap on new markets in the Middle East and US.
The Colchester company has taken all 10 staff off furlough to deal with the upsurge in UK and international demand.
Enquiries are for baths as well as a range of bathroom furniture and the company is pushing out details of the new product range imminently.
The company remained operational during lockdown with a limited service but has now resumed full operations to deal with the potential sales upsurge.
Already highly active across a number of European countries, BC Designs says it has now received several “significant sales enquiries” from the Middle East where demand for British products and quality is growing.
The company adds that it is also currently developing a new collection of products aimed at the US market.
Darren Allison, managing director at BC Designs, says: “Lockdown presented us with a unique opportunity to revisit and refocus our business strategy.
“We have strong growth plans and one area which will allow us to achieve this is through increasing our presence and sales in the international arena.
“The senior management has since taken the decision to invest heavily in key markets including the Middle East and the US and we have already started to see the benefits.
“Since June 1 we have also secured housing and hotel contracts in Ireland, with plans to continue to invest heavily in the country. However, this has only been possible by bringing back all our employees off furlough to ensure we have knowledgeable sales and customer service staff to meet demand both in the UK and abroad.”
