Oyster yields three pearls to global customers
Oyster Yachts in Norfolk, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of luxury blue water sailing yachts, has sold three new craft to a mix of fresh and existing international customers.
The company is keeping exact prices under wraps but has confirmed that the combined worth of the deals runs into the millions.
An Oyster 565 was sold to a new client in the UK, a 595 model to a new Finnish customer and an existing Oyster owner from Switzerland has bought a new-generation 745.
Oyster’s 565 and 595 models exemplify the high-end ‘friends and family’ cruisers with a capacity for global circumnavigation and can be comfortably handled by just two people. The 745 is a highly versatile model which can be optimised for fully-crewed regatta speed or kept smaller for short-handed sailing. It is the 745’s twin rudder hull configuration which allows for this breadth of use.
The 565 and 595 will be built at Oyster’s Wroxham site in Norwich, which recommenced manufacturing in May 2018 while the 745 will be constructed at Oyster Yachts’ Southampton yard.
CEO Richard Hadida said: “Oyster is firmly back in business and we are here for the long haul. The international profile of our clients and the fact that three different models have been sold clearly shows the breadth of our offering and our appeal as a British brand in a truly global market.
“Our yachts are sailed all over the world and it is gratifying to see that we continue to attract a global audience. Our order pipeline is strong, manufacturing is up and running at our Wroxham and Southampton sites and we can’t wait to welcome even more new members into the Oyster family through 2019.”
