42 Technology launches printing practice

Cambridgeshire product innovator 42 Technology (42T) has consolidated its experience and track record in the development and application of print technologies into a dedicated printing practice which will provide a more focused resource for its clients.

The new practice will be led by Shay Yulzary, who joined from industrial inkjet company Xennia in 2010 to further strengthen and build 42T’s in-house expertise in the print sector.

The new practice will help print technology companies develop their next generation printing solutions, as well as providing support to manufacturers looking to exploit the latest advances in digital print techniques within their production lines.

The consultancy’s print sector experience includes the development of breakthrough technologies and systems for some of the world’s best known names in the printing sector and has involved working with functional inks and unusual substrates such as laminates, plastic films and textiles.

Increasingly manufacturers are looking to print on virtually any substrate, rather than simply on paper, and are often working with challenging materials, biological fluids or conductive inks that require the use of multiple technologies.

The new printing practice is perfectly placed to target these emerging opportunities by combining 42T’s track record within the sector with its strengths in enabling technologies such as: handling and thermal management of challenging liquids; development of complex systems; user-centric design; and working with an extensive range of substrates.

Yulzary said: “42 Technology’s printing practice will enable clients to access the broad range of technologies they need to bring new print products or processes to market, while helping to strengthen our industry profile and promote our skills.

“Clients and prospects usually know about our successes in developing ink delivery systems but may not necessarily be aware of our other printing-related work where we are often not allowed to mention client names.

“For example, in developing laser marking technology, new print system concepts or helping manufacturers to find the most cost effective way to incorporate digital print technologies into new production lines.”
