May Gurney announce record H1 earnings

Norwich-based contruction services firm, May Gurney has announced record £7.1m first half earnings.It reported H1 revenues of £199.6m, up 12 per cent and pretax profit of £6.6m, up 20 per cent from £5.5m last year. A secure order book of over £900m containing contracts with West Sussex County Council, Network Rail and Essex and Suffolk Water provide a healthy future, the firm said.

“This has been a very important year for May Gurney and we are extremely pleased to announce a very positive set of maiden interim results following on from our successful flotation on AIM in June 2006,” said chief executive, David Sterry.
