Barford + Co joins forces with Brown & Co in regional power play
Two of the region’s most active property consultancies – Barford + Co and Brown & Co – have joined forces to create a powerful new proposition.
Brown & Co is a multi-disciplinary firm of chartered surveyors which operates across the eastern region.
The united business will operate as Brown & Co Barfords. Sheila Smyth has become a partner of Brown & Co LLP. Martin Page and Phil Halmshaw have become consultants and David Barford will continue in his current consultancy role.
Barfords says there will be little change to the service and staffing from its St Neots office.
Halmshaw said: “We very much intend to maintain the same high quality of service our clients have come to expect but we will be able to add additional services, scale and value as a result of this merger.
“Our practice will be greatly strengthened and deepened as a result of the addition of architectural services, residential agency, agricultural land agency, auctions and advice on renewables. In addition, Brown & Co has one of the country’s leading agricultural business consultancies and the advantage of being able to call on a very wide range of expertise across all land and property sectors and disciplines.”
Brown & Co employs over 220 staff and will now operate from 13 UK offices, largely in East Anglia and the East Midlands, together with offices in Poland, Romania and the Caribbean and an associate in Argentina.
Together, the firms say they have unparalleled experience and ability in commercial and residential property, land agency and agricultural business consultancy.
