Bidwells finesses senior roles to drive growth blueprint

Bidwells has promoted two of its senior people to wider roles within the firm in a move to allow other members of the team to focus on outward facing elements of the business growth strategy.

Catherine Spitzer, who has been chief operating officer since 2014, is taking on the wider role of managing director with responsibility for managing and driving the business forward.

Catherine says: “My new role will focus on what we want our business to be in the medium and long term, to clarify what we do best and how we can meet our objectives. One of the key mechanisms to drive the operational delivery of our strategic plans is through the creation of Strategic Working Groups which will allow a greater number of our senior people to be involved and make a contribution.”

Julie Archer, HR director since 2014, is promoted to Director of People and Change with responsibility for the ongoing management of major projects – such as the ‘Working Better Together’ programme and the new Bidwells House.

Julie says: “‘Working Better Together’ is an initiative to review internal processes and practices which will improve knowledge sharing within the firm and further enhance the client experience.

“The current refurbishment of Bidwell House which is scheduled for completion in early 2018, marks a step change in the way we operate, moving towards agile working and the use of innovative technology to make us ‘paper light’.

“This will bring greater flexibility and improve work/life integration, empowering staff to focus on output and be a key driver in recruiting and retaining staff in the future.”

Bidwells senior partner Patrick McMahon said: “When I was re-elected for a third term earlier this year I made a commitment to spend even more time growing the business rather than managing the business. I am therefore delighted to announce the promotion of Catherine and Julie into wider ranging roles which will help to achieve this objective.”
