Grovemere creates 75 acres of new commercial development land

Grovemere Property has completed its Phase II infrastructure project at Lancaster Way Business Park in Ely – opening up approximately 75 acres of additional commercial development land.

Work began on the site in October 2016 to enable a wide and diverse mix of companies, even those with large power requirements, to be accommodated at the scheme. 

New surface and foul water drainage systems have been created; the existing road network has been extended; a new 3.5 megawatt power supply has been delivered as has the existing water main network and gas supply to the Enterprise Zone.

Lucy Frazer, MP for South East Cambridgeshire, said: “I am delighted to see the progress being made at Lancaster Way Business Park which forms part of the Cambridge Compass Enterprise Zone.

“The growth of business within the park during the last five years has been phenomenal and I understand a further two buildings are scheduled to start before the end of 2017, creating another 150,000 sq ft of commercial space with the ability to host up to 600 employees.”

Harvey Bibby, for developer Grovemere Property, added: “Lancaster Way already benefits from a diverse mix of 80 existing businesses with 1,400 employees, and these statistics are changing rapidly. 

“Ely is in a huge growth phase with the new leisure park recently completed, Ely North under construction, the connection to Cambridge North train station now complete and the Ely Southern Bypass on target to be completed during 2018.”
