Logistics specialist rents 275,000 sq ft warehouse

Bidwells Logistics and Industrial team has let the largest warehouse unit to become available in East Anglia in the last 10 years.

The CDC Warehouse in Sawston is more than 275,000 sq ft and has been let to The Commodity Centre Group, a dedicated commodity store and logistics specialist. The five-year lease commands a headline rent of over £1.2 million a year.

The Bidwells team was able to secure the tenant after only two months of marketing the space.

Patrick Stanton, head of Bidwells Logistics and Industrial team said: “We are delighted to have secured such a significant letting in our short period of marketing for the client.

“Our knowledge of the wider market enabled us to approach several occupiers with whom we have strong relationships to enquire about their current space requirements.

“The unit enjoys an excellent location close to the M11/A14 and its eaves height of 12+ metres ensured that it commanded a great deal of interest from the market. Securing the deal has created significant value for our client.”

Bidwells reports that there are now only three buildings available over 100,000 sq ft across East Anglia. Two of these are currently under offer which will further impact on the supply issues facing the region.
