Optibrium moves to new Cambridge headquarters
Optibrium, which develops software for small molecule drug discovery, has relocated its UK headquarters to Cambridge Innovation Park and fortified leadership of its US team.
The move to larger premises is driven by the company’s rapid recent growth and will accommodate future expansion plans as it accelerates its R& D pipeline and extends research into new technologies to improve the efficiency and productivity of the drug discovery process.
In the last year Optibrium has grown by 60 per cent, expanding its computational chemistry, software development and application science teams.
As part of this growth strategy, Dr Scott Lyon joins Optibrium on the west coast of North America, where he has responsibility for supporting the company’s existing client base and for developing new business opportunities for StarDrop and the company’s range of products for small molecule design, optimisation and data analysis.
He has 20 years of experience in business development and support for scientific software and services, having previously worked at organisations including MDL, CambridgeSoft and Thomson Reuters.
Dr Lyon has BSc from Carnegie Mellon University and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Arizona.
