Top trio moving to Cambridge city tech quarter
Cambridge’s city centre technology quarter is fast becoming a mercantile metropolis after a string of top professional services firms – including global legal practice Eversheds Sutherland – agreed moves to CB1’s latest office development, 50/60 Station Road.
Financial consulting firm Charles River Associates and engineering consultancy Peter Brett Associates have also signed up to move into the flagship building to scale UK operations.
A growing number of world-class tech companies have already set up home on Station Road.
Developed by Brookgate and funded by Aviva Investors, 50/60 Station Road is designed by award winning architect Grimshaw and offers a total of 156,000 sq ft of Grade A office space. Construction is well advanced and is due to complete this spring.
Simon Tytherleigh, senior office partner at Eversheds Sutherland Cambridge – currently based at the nearby Kett House – said: “Everyone at Eversheds Sutherland’s Cambridge office is excited about the upcoming office move to CB1.
“We may not be moving far but the new location ensures we have a building fit for a modern, flexible global legal practice that delivers in providing a comfortable and contemporary environment for our staff – and a welcoming one for clients and visitors.”
Pascale Diesel, vice-president at Charles River Associates, added: “CRA is excited for our move to 50/60 Station Road as we continue to grow our Life Science business.
“This new space brings the energy that exemplifies the drive and innovation we bring to our client engagements and the passion of our talented, creative team.
“Located in the heart of Cambridge, the dynamic new building expands our UK footprint and provides opportunities to further broaden our client base.”
Peter Brett Associates intends to scale its Cambridge UK operations after the move. Director Simon Darch said: “PBA, now part of Stantec, is thrilled to be moving to 50/60 Station Road. We’re in the process of growing our business and were looking for a new base that would allow us to continue to deliver quality for our clients while giving us the opportunity to expand our local footprint.
“Cambridge is an important region for PBA and our move to this exciting new development reinforces our commitment to the area.”
