US lab giant scales European operation from Cambridge

Clinical Reference Laboratory Europe Ltd, part of a global group headquartered in Kansas, is scaling its Cambridge presence.

The company is completing a move from smaller accommodation elsewhere in the technology hotspot to Suite 7310 in Building 7300, totalling 5,587 sq ft at Cambridge Research Park. It has taken a 10-year lease in a deal negotiated by Bidwells.

For the present, precise details of its plans for growth from Cambridge are being kept under wraps by an experienced management team.

Parent company Clinical Reference Laboratory, Inc. (CRL) performs hundreds of thousands of tests every day for clients of all sizes across diverse business segments.
It has dedicated facilities in North America and Europe with over 275,000+ square-feet of laboratories, logistics and office space. A staff of over 450 associates work around-the-clock to process and report results seven days a week.

An undisputed leader in laboratory testing, CRL serves many of the largest organisations in the world in retail, transportation, pharmaceutical, healthcare and finance. It analysed over 100 million tests in the past year alone and has a capacity of over 300 million tests per year.

Bidwells says that the Cambridge Research Park letting leaves just two units providing Grade A accommodation remaining in Building 7300. Suite 7330 on the ground floor has 2,290 sq ft of laboratory space while Suite 7340 on the first floor offers 2,748 sq ft of fitted office space. Each suite has its own entrance and all units are linked by a covered walkway.

Building 7300 is set within 112 acres of Business Park with attractive views over natural surroundings, a central lake feature and on-site cafe. There is a generous parking ratio.

As part of the Cambridge Compass Enterprise zone, the park can deliver excellent government support for the growth and development of businesses. Bidwells is a joint agent for Cambridge Research Park with Savills.
