Army surveillance ace joins Dardan Security

Cambridge headquartered security specialist, Dardan, has appointed former Army Commander of Intelligence and Surveillance, Major Andrew Buxton as its new head of client services.

Dardan says that with over 30 years’ operational experience within the British Army, Buxton is ideally placed to provide a level of insight seldom found within private security in his new role.

A former chief instructor at Sandhurst, Andrew joined Dardan Security in October after finishing his career in the Royal Anglian Regiment as Head of Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance for a 1,000 strong battle grouping.

In 2015, he was mentioned in the New Year’s Honours for the instrumental part he played in creating the Ministry of Defence’s contribution to the UK’s counter terrorism strategy first activated by the Prime Minister in response to the Manchester Arena attack.

In his role, Andrew will help to provide new integrated security solutions which Dardan says combine the best in manned guarding and new technologies to offer clients contemporary security solutions. He will also help to develop business across the country while identifying potential new business opportunities.

He holds an MBA, a Master’s in Leadership and Management, is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Member of the Security Institute. Andrew says that his new role will allow him to continue providing world class security solutions to Dardan Security’s ever-growing clients list.

Andrew will also work alongside recently appointed UK training manager, Roger Clarke who has 30 years in the police service working within hostage and crisis negotiation training and management.

During his time with the Royal Anglian Regiment, Andrew gained 30 years’ operational experience from multiple tours of Northern Ireland, Balkans, Middle East, Asia and Africa.
