Cambridge key to Sosei growth plan
Sosei Group Corporation, which has R & D facilities in Cambridge, has appointed Rolf Soderstrom as a new board director and promoted Dr Malcolm Weir to the role of executive vice-chairman.
The changes, announced at the shareholders’ meeting in Tokyo, accompanied a realignment of its UK R & D organisation in which a number of talented scientists were promoted.
The moves are designed to strengthen the focus of Sosei Heptares on the execution of the next stage of the company’s growth strategy.
This aims to leverage Sosei Heptares’ world-class Platform, Discovery and Early Development capabilities with a focus on advancing and extending its portfolio of partnered programs.
Soderstrom was previously CFO at the UK-listed FTSE250 specialist healthcare company BTG plc which was acquired by Boston Scientific for $4.2 billion in 2019.
Malcolm Weir, previously EVP Research and Early Development, has been integral to the company’s success in Cambridge.
Chairman, president and CEO, Shinichi Tamura said: Malcolm has made critical contributions as we have evolved the company’s growth strategy in the last 24 months.”
