COEL strengthens executive team
Cambridge office fit-out and refurbishment company COEL has strengthened and restructured its senior management team to drive a fresh era of growth for the business as it prepares for its 33rd year of trading.
Founder Neil Cook has broadened COEL’s geographical reach by setting up shop in Oxford and other prime trade corridors. And he has put in place a dynamic senior team to steer the UK-wide scale-up process.
He says: “Although COEL will always have its heart in Cambridge, it is inevitable that we will need to explore new markets to achieve continued growth. The management restructure demonstrates COEL’s continued commitment to be an employer of choice, developing and nurturing talent from within the team.”
The COEL ‘Cabinet’ reshuffle sees Cook become group director, Kate Deveraux promoted to group finance director, Dan Brown named regional director and Alistair Rumbelow elevated to become managing director.
Three new directors are also welcomed to the board – Barnaby Clark as Sales & Marketing director, Jerry Overhill (Operations director) and Kevin Elstub (Commercial director).
Clark believes COEL’s success lies in its continued excellence in customer service and its track record in building long-term relationships with clients. As an increasing number of businesses look for in-situ refurbishments we commit to being a partner for businesses as they adapt and change,” Clark says.
“We want our clients to have the peace of mind that we will fulfil all of their requirements.”
The turnkey solution COEL offers runs throughout the main business as well as its subsidiaries and property maintenance arm.
Cambridge is renowned as a centre for science and technological research and development so it is no surprise that COEL has become expert in laboratory fit-out and specialist work. For example, multi-award winner Owlstone Medical, which has developed a breathalyser to detect disease earlier, is a client; COEL amalgamated Owlstone’s two Cambridge Science Park labs into one productive space.
