Technology focused Melia earns RSM partner role

Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK has promoted Phil Melia to partner within the corporate tax team to support the firm’s ambitious growth plans.

Melia is based in RSM’s Cambridge office and has over 20 years’ experience in UK and international tax. 

His expertise includes advising businesses on UK and international tax implications from a corporate and shareholder perspective throughout their growth journey, including early-stage companies through to public listings and exits.

During his career, Melia has worked in industry as a tax and treasury director for an AIM-listed company in Silicon Valley, California. As a result of this and his years in the Cambridge ecosystem, a key sector focus is tech and life science companies, especially those expanding into the US.

Laragh Jeanroy, RSM’s office managing partner in Cambridge, said: “Cambridge is a key tech and life sciences hub so Phil’s knowledge and experience in both these sectors will continue to be invaluable for our clients and RSM. His promotion is another step towards strengthening our capability to meet the ever-changing needs of businesses in East Anglia.”

RSM has also promoted a further 15 partners across its UK network. The new cohort of partners come from a range of specialisms including audit, corporate finance, VAT, legal services and risk assurance.
