Cambridge crowdfunder hits £1m a month milestone
SyndicateRoom, the innovative crowdfunding platform created in Cambridge UK, has reached the £15 million raised barrier in just 15 months – a stunning £1m-a-month strike rate by the startup.
The company hit the milestone thanks to a duo of overfundings from a novel real estate fundraising and success for an exciting new medical technology.
The Mill Residential REIT effort closed at £2,225,520 and Lightpoint Medical overfunded to £1m.
A thrilled SyndicateRoom CEO Goncalo de Vasconselos said: “We are thrilled to be smashing our targets since our launch 15 months ago and hitting £15m before 2015 is an incredible landmark for us.
“Our model – enabling members the opportunity to invest in sophisticated companies alongside the professional business angels and lead investors – has proved to be extremely effective.
“With a number of highly curated investment opportunities available now and more soon to be launched we aim to make 2015 an even more successful year.
“Offering the same share class and same share price as the lead investors, SyndicateRoom has helped 24 companies raise their target to date.”
