Successful entrepreneurship: A combination of passion and pragmatism
Dr Will West (founder and CEO of CellCentric) and Dr Shaun Fitzgerald (Co‐founder and MD of Breathing Buildings) provided inspiring and revealing insights into the realisation of their respective business innovations at the latest Enterprise Tuesday session run by CfEL.
Although working in different sectors – biotechnology and cleantech – there were synergies in how they viewed the process of making their ideas happen. Passion and enthusiasm are important to see you through the rejection and challenges of setting up a business but the real value is created by practical resources such as a good team, expert advisers, efficient operations and effective networking.
Enterprise Tuesday is a series of lectures and networking sessions on entrepreneurial themes, managed and delivered by Cambridge Judge Business School’s Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, which runs from October to February each year. It is currently free to attend and open to the wider community. Two young entrepreneurs, Warren Bennett and David Hathiramani, co‐directors and founders, A Suit that Fits.com, talked about how to pitch your ideas effectively to potential investors and customers at the last session on Tuesday. For further information and to register, see the CfEL web site at www.cfel.jbs.cam.ac.uk/programmes/enterprisetuesday/programme/timetable....• PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS: Dr Shaun Fitzgerald, co‐founder and MDirector of Breathing Buildings (left) with a Dr Will West, founder and CEO of CellCentric
