Arm joins Cambridge scale-up masterclass to inspire more unicorns
Global technology entrepreneurs are pitching into a Cambridge masterclass designed to inspire more billion dollar companies in the cluster.
The Geek Whisperer, Adelina Chalmers, in association with Cambridge Wireless has corralled tech thought leaders to advise companies how to push on once they start making millions and aspire to unicorn status.
A panel comprising Suranga Chandratillake, former CTO at HP Autonomy in San Francisco and head of blinkx, Martina King (former MD at Yahoo! Europe and now CEO at machine learning company Featurespace in Cambridge) and Monika Biddulph – VP at Arm – will hear from Cambridge technology scale-ups about the challenges they are facing at a morning event on February 1 at the Bradfield Centre on Cambridge Science Park.
Cambridge is a vibrant hub, producing revolutionary tech innovation and making big waves in the sector. However, historically these startups have struggled to scale to a billion pounds.
Seeking to change this for the better, Chalmers, who helps engineers at companies like Arm, is working in collaboration with Cambridge Wireless, providing a space for investors and experts who have successfully scaled-up to pass on these growth tools to future leaders.
Startups will have three minutes to pitch their growth problem to the panel, who will then provide them with three action points they recommend for their growth. This will be followed by a networking opportunity for audience members, startups, scale-ups, investors and experts alike.
