Herculean global effort by Marshall Aerospace in world war on coronavirus

Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group in Cambridge has answered a fresh call to arms to ensure fleets of Hercules C-130s are available for military and humanitarian deployments during the coronavirus pandemic.

Marshall ADG builds, services and maintains a widening range of military equipment for armed forces around the world.

Much of this work is forming a significant part of respective governments’ coronavirus response planning. Perhaps most significant is the iconic C-130 Hercules transport aircraft which, through its versatility, is often the go-to platform for humanitarian missions.

Marshall ADG currently maintains C-130 fleets for many global air forces, including the RAF, and is witnessing growing demand for availability as nations gear up to tackle the COVID-19 crisis.

Chief executive officer, Alistair McPhee said: “We are always incredibly proud of the work we do to protect people in critical situations and that has never been more relevant than right now.

“Multiple customers have already been using their C-130 fleet to carry out medevac repatriation missions and deploying them to get supplies to remote areas.

“We are also anticipating more demand for medical equipment and deployable infrastructure as armed forces are called upon to support the capacity needs of health services across the globe.

“It is vitally important that we are able to stand ready to help in whatever capacity we can over the weeks and months ahead and I want to take the opportunity to pay tribute to the team – in particular our frontline employees who are doing an amazing job in very difficult circumstances to make sure we don’t and won’t let our customers down.”

Marshall ADG has specialised in protecting people in critical situations for more than 100 years. Today the company continues to deliver its global customers world-leading applied engineering services across its core capabilities of managed services, integration and technologies.

MADG comprises a team of more than 1,800 highly skilled colleagues, located across UK, Canada, Europe and Middle East, dedicated to setting the highest standards across the industry.
