McGrath Centre open for business

The McGrath Centre

Conference Cambridge, the free venue-finding service for the University, colleges, hotels and other unique properties in and around Cambridge, is announcing an exciting new facility at one of the venues in its portfolio.

St Catharine’s College has opened The McGrath Centre, a sleek stone, glass and steel building with a soaring lobby, versatile auditorium, meeting rooms and sophisticated downstairs bar, which bring together functional and inviting spaces to meet, socialise and learn.

The centre has been named in recognition of the major contribution of alumnus Harvey McGrath.

Situated within the grounds of the historic St Catharine’s College, the auditorium provides tiered retractable seating for up to 154 delegates, providing an uninterrupted view of the podiums and screen.

State-of-the-art lighting and audio-visual systems allow event organisers to create a bespoke environment within this innovative space. The retractable wall opens up the foyer area and gives the McGrath Centre the flexibility to be used for meetings, lectures, receptions, catered events and even as a performance space.

Since its opening, the McGrath Centre has been in demand and very popular, with recent event organisers highlighting its ‘beautiful and spacious facilities’ and one naming it ‘the best venue in central Cambridge’.

St Catharine’s College is just one of over 40 venues in Conference Cambridge’s portfolio.
