Record £25m worth of conference enquiries for Cambridge

Conference business has reached a record high in the Cambridge UK technology heartland.
Conference Cambridge, which corals trade for the university, its colleges and other historic venues in the city, fielded 3,302 enquiries worth £25 million in 2014. That was 600 more enquiries than the previous year.
The latest figures released by Conference Cambridge break all previous records in its 16-year history, representing a 20 per cent increase in the volume of enquiries.
Of these, 1040 bookings were confirmed worth £4.8m, versus 931 bookings worth £4.4m in 2013. This means that out of the total number of enquiries, 32 per cent have completed and a further £570k of revenue is still provisionally booked.
Kelly Vickers, managing director of Conference Cambridge said: “2014 was definitely our busiest year to date and we are delighted with these latest figures which break all records for us.
“This underlines Cambridge’s appeal as a location for events of all types including larger scale gatherings which can benefit from using multiple venues.

Conference Cambridge has over 50 different venues in its portfolio.
