The transatlantic business is accelerating from breakthrough innovation to commercial rollout of its quantum networking solutions and the arrival of Richard Moulds and Jonathan Cumming looks to be another game changer.

Moulds, the architect behind Amazon’s quantum computing service, Amazon Braket, will join the Strategic Advisory Board, alongside Bob Sutor, Roland Acra and Hemant Mardia.

Cumming, a former investment banker turned global-scale CFO with a track record of driving billion-dollar exits, has been appointed CFO.

Moulds' appointment in particular marks a major milestone as Nu Quantum moves from breakthrough innovation towards commercial rollout of its quantum networking solutions.

Previously, as General Manager of Amazon Braket, Richard Moulds spearheaded the launch of AWS’s first global quantum platform, giving researchers and developers seamless access to a diverse range of quantum computers and simulators to build quantum algorithms on AWS.

Over more than seven years, he helped shape the company’s quantum strategy and build one of the largest quantum ecosystems. Before AWS, he served as General Manager at Whitewood Security, a Boston-based quantum cybersecurity startup, and held senior leadership roles in product management and strategy at Thales eSecurity.

Cumming will lead Nu Quantum's financial strategy and long-term growth. He joins with extensive strategic experience in international markets, having scaled companies globally and achieved billion-dollar exits. He began his career as an investment banker at Barclays before spending a decade as CFO of ONO, where he helped grow the Madrid-based cable telecoms operator and prepare its €10 billion sale to Vodafone.

Cumming later served as CFO and COO of a global audiovisual services and media group in Barcelona, where he guided the company from administration to a €2 billion exit over eight years.

Dr. Carmen Palacios-Berraquero, Founder and CEO of Nu Quantum, said: “Richard and Jonathan are visionary leaders with extensive experience in advanced technologies and commercial success. Their expertise will be invaluable as we advance quantum networking towards practical, data centre-ready deployment. With their strategic insight, we can accelerate the development of scalable, modular quantum systems that deliver real commercial value.”

Nu Quantum's Entanglement Fabric approach is a modular, interoperable networking layer that interconnects quantum processors into a more powerful distributed quantum computer. Through its technological advances and collaboration with industry partners, Nu Quantum is accelerating the path to fault tolerance to unlock breakthroughs and transform industries worldwide.
