ARU hosts bid to reverse under-investment in region

The Opportunity East report, published by the East of England Local Government Association and Chambers East, in partnership with the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the region, presents the case for increased investment in the region’s infrastructure.
The rationale is set against a backdrop of historical underinvestment, vulnerability to flooding, drought and challenges around nature conservation according to the organisers.
The report is being presented at the 2024 East of England Net Zero and Resilience Summit at ARU, which brings together four leading organisations –East of England Local Government Association, England’s Economic Heartland, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, and Transport East.
The objective is to discuss solutions to the challenges posed to the region’s infrastructure by climate change and opportunities linked to the green economy.
Anglia Ruskin University will also take the opportunity to showcase several new research projects that are designed to improve efficiencies and sustainability to drive economic growth in the region.
The conference is being held onThursday, 18 July at ARU’s Cambridge campus in East Road. See more at: www.aru.ac.uk/events/net-zero-and-climate-resilience-summit
