The company designs and makes leading-edge computer products, systems, and mission-critical solutions used in high-performance markets by some of the world's major OEMs.

It has acted fast to unveil an updated plan for its Colchester-based headquarters and UK manufacturing facilities.

At the end of March the company announced its intention to relocate from Newcomen Way to a new property to house its headquarters and UK manufacturing. Substantive delays to planning consent beyond the company's control have prevented this progressing so Concurrent has approved an alternative, lower cost option to accelerate the timeline for capacity expansion.

The company has agreed terms to a 10-year lease for approximately 14,800 square feet of office space in a newly refurbished building immediately adjacent to its existing facility in Colchester. Office-based staff will relocate to the new building, releasing space within the existing 19,000 square feet at the current site, allowing those offices to be reconfigured for additional manufacturing capacity, and efficiency of production layout.

Terms have also been agreed for a new 10 year lease at its current site, securing the expanded production capability beyond the mid 2030's.

Concurrent will also continue with its previously stated investment in new machines to double PCB assembly capacity, further strengthening its ability to meet customer demand. The company expects to upgrade the current facility and complete the move into the new office building in H1 2026.

Miles Adcock, CEO, said: "We are confident that this new plan, which emerged as a more attractive option as we became aware of delays to the original project, puts us in a stronger position to meet growing demand. By relocating office-based teams into high-quality space next door, we can quickly expand our factory footprint and invest in the additional capacity needed to support our growth."
