Government ace joins Marshall to develop business in Middle East

Rob Bricker assumes the newly created post of Business Development Director, drawing on almost 20 years of experience across defence and security exports, training transformation and programme management. His role demands building relationships with new and existing customers in one of Marshall’s fastest-growing regions.
Bricker joins from the UK Department for Business and Trade where he led a large and diverse team across a range of sectors as UAE Country Director. In his two prior roles within the Department, he served as First Secretary for Defence and Security for the UAE and Kuwait, in both cases leading defence and industrial collaborations, building strategic partnerships and intergovernmental contact networks.
From 2012 to 2018, Bricker was also responsible for planning and delivering technology and knowledge transfer initiatives for the UK Ministry of Defence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“The Middle East is a key strategic region for Marshall’s global expansion and Rob joins our team at the perfect time to support our growth plans,” said Marshall Middle East Managing Director, Chris Walton.
“Rob’s experience in the UAE and Saudi Arabia will prove invaluable as we continue to partner with local organisations, exchange technology and knowhow, strengthen industrial partnerships and deliver engineering capabilities in line with shared strategic priorities.”
Bricker has lived in the Gulf throughout his professional career and will be based in Marshall’s Abu Dhabi regional headquarters. He said: “I’m delighted to be joining Marshall at a pivotal moment in its regional growth. Across the Middle East, partnership is the key word and we have the ambition to drive it forward.
“It’s an exciting time and I look forward to continuing the development of mutually beneficial cooperation across the region.”
With a growing footprint across the UK, Europe, North America and the Middle East, Marshall currently employs around 2,000 people.
