Cheffins advised Raspberry Pi on the assignment of the lease of the 7,642 sq ft first-floor suite. It runs until 2033, underpinning Grant Thornton’s position in Cambridge.

Microcomputer company Raspberry Pi’s move forms part of its broader property strategy and will see the company focus on its local headquarters at Cambridge Science Park.

St John’s Innovation Park is a 21-acre campus offering high-quality office accommodation alongside an innovation centre, gym and transport hub. The park is home to a number of leading occupiers including Darktrace, RSM and Mewburn Ellis. The Maurice Wilkes Building, completed in 2018, provides approximately 65,000 sq ft of Grade A office space arranged over five floors.

Will Brown, Director at Cheffins, who advised on the transaction, commented: “Cheffins has advised Raspberry Pi on its property requirements since 2020, supporting the business throughout its remarkable growth since its establishment in 2008. This latest move represents the next phase in Raspberry Pi’s evolution and its wider property strategy as the company positions itself for continued success.

“We were delighted to advise Raspberry Pi on this assignment and to ensure a smooth transition of the lease to Grant Thornton. With excellent access to Cambridge city centre, the A14, M11 and A1, and a prominent position within St John’s Innovation Park, the Maurice Wilkes Building offers the type of high-quality space that remains in strong demand from both professional services and technology occupiers.”

Cheffins has also completed the assignment of the remainder of the lease held by Analysys Mason, global technology, media and telecoms firm at St Giles Court in central Cambridge, to software company, Cosmol Multiphysics.

Offering high quality tenant fit out in a prominent location close to the city centre and River Cam, St Giles Court also benefits from on-site car parking. The lease offered included the entire first floor of the building, stretching to over 4,294 sq ft available by way of assignment or subletting, with the term ending October 2028.

Brown said: “Having advised Analysys Mason on its property strategy since 2000, we were delighted to support the company on this latest transaction. Cambridge remains a leading hub for technology and computing businesses, with strong demand for office space not only across the science parks but also within the historic city centre. St Giles Court presents an excellent opportunity for smaller occupiers to secure centrally located space alongside like-minded businesses, encouraging knowledge sharing and collaboration.”
